Shibi has been with IANS Publishing for over a decade and has headed operations for more than half that time. A media and communications professional for the past 22 years, he has worked with leading Indian newspapers (The Times of India), magazines (India Today) and TV stations (TV18) in key positions. His expertise lies in conceiving and producing quality publications – as well as online products – that help clients to effectively communicate with their stakeholders. When not fretting over design and going over content with a fine-toothed comb, Shibi loves fiction and long drives.
Sunil Saxena is the Senior Vice President (New Media). He has over three decades of experience in Print, New Media, Research and Journalism Education. He set up twelve websites in five languages for The New Indian Express Group, digitised the physical libraries owned by the Group, and set up their online information and research service. Earlier, he was the first Dean of the Asian College of Journalism, when it was based in Bangalore. As a print journalist, he has led the editorial team of The Pioneer in Lucknow, was Associate Editor of Indian Express, and has worked in Times of India, India Today, Business India and Northern India Patrika. He is also the author of Breaking News, the first book on Internet Journalism published in India, and Headline Writing. Both the books are recommended texts in most Indian universities. As a researcher, Sunil has conducted a countrywide media study in Malawi, for UNESCO. A thoroughbred gentleman, Sunil is an ideas man.
Sreenivas is a senior editor who directs IANS publishing operations, leading a team of experienced editors and designers. He has had diverse professional experience in the media – radio, print, newswire and publishing, having worked with leading national and international media houses like The Indian Express Group, the erstwhile BridgeNews, Cambridge European Associates UK (Managing Editor, Asia Pacific), PressWire News UK (Features Editor, South Asia), Pearson Education India (Managing Editor, ELT & School) and MindWorks Global Media Services Ltd (Executive Editor). Sreenivas has also led offshore publishing operations for clients based in the Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Europe. He has taught at universities and management institutes and has conducted communication training programmes for corporates like Tata Consultancy Services. Sreenivas is presently working on his first book of fiction.
Shajan is an experienced Visual Editor based in New Delhi. He has worked with The India Today Group, The Indian Express Group, The New Indian Express Group and HT Media. He actively participated in the launch of ‘Mint', the business daily from the HT Media group in an exclusive partnership with The Wall Street Journal. During this time, he had the chance to work closely with the world-renowned Visual Journalist Dr. Mario Garcia (Sr.) and his team. An expert in design software packages like QuarkXpress, InDesign, iRite pagination system, Methode pagination system, Illustrator, Freehand, Photoshop and CorelDraw, Shajan has experimented with new techniques in Information Graphics. He has won the first Ejourno & Syntel Fellowship to work on ‘Impact of Internet on visual Journalism'.
Mitra is the man who keeps IANS' extensive network ticking over. A tech maestro and a workaholic, he also oversees IANS Solutions, the company's web solutions division. When not tinkering with technology, Mitra thinks technology and loves to hang around long after he has fixed the newest bug. |
